United deny next home fixture 'Portuguese Only' Boston United have denied that their next home fixture will be 'Portuguese Only' and access to people born and bred in Boston will be restricted. Questions were asked when a sign was spotted outside York Street advertising the next home game against Darlington. The sign read: 'Boston v Darlington, Saturday 3pm. No English. Portuguese Only.' After three Boston fans protested the restriction in the letters section of the Boston Target, United GM John Blackwell moved to quell any fears. 'The game is open to everybody that comes. True, Des Wood is friends with some Portuguese pub owners. And, true, he doesn't want anybody English coming to the match. But we have some great milk cartons and some very low walls.' Similar signs have been spotted around Boston in recent months, especially Portuguese owned shops and pubs. Boston Police
Chief Bernard Pistolwhip told impsTALK: 'I have absolutely no idea what
you're talking about. I work in Skegness and haven't been to Boston in
eight months. The Boston United Supporters Association removed the anti English sign yesterday only to their chairman arrested for 'global terrorist activities' and taken to an unspecified location in Nigeria. |
