Daryl Clare gave his detractors something to think about last night, scoring a stunning free kick in the reserves’ 1-0 win over Scunthorpe.

Clare has come in for heavy criticism after a series of lacklustre performances and was eager to tell impsTALK where unhappy fans can stick their complaints.

‘Up their fat arses,’ Clare stormed. ‘Did you see my goal? It was a goal, it went in, didn’t it?’

Watching on the sidelines, chairman Jon Sotnick praised his underperforming striker.

‘Andy Kirk - who needs him?’ Sotnick bellowed. ‘Not when you’ve got Daryl knocking them in for fun in the Pontins League. I've promised Daryl that Craig will write up his goal first thing in the morning.’

The three genuine Boston United reserve players were joined by a host of 14 year old kids invited for a knock around, one of whom may or may not have had an uncle who played six minutes for Maidstone United in February 1986.
