Boston unveil Elding. Again.
Elding initially
penned a deal with Boston United last month, creating a mild thawing of
the frosty relationship between Evans and fans, but left the club by mutual
consent yesterday afternoon, before rejoining the club today amid a blaze
of positive publicity. Encouraged by a more positive response to the capture of Port Vale trialist Richie Ryan, Evans decided to transfer list Elding and purchase him again for a second time, and with many Bostonians now no longer paying close attention to events at the Staffsmart Arena his ploy appears to have worked with the fan turning out in force on a balmy summer evening. “We’re delighted Ant has pledged his immediate future to us here at the Staffsmart Arena,” Evans said. “When I heard from Jim that I’d listed him yesterday I called my wife on her mobile to alert her of his availability. Subsequently both myself and Jim acted quickly to get him on board. I’d also thank to thank myself personally for the absolutely professional way I’ve handled this transfer. I’m a great admirer and friend of Steve Evans and wish myself the best of luck for the forthcoming Coca-Cola League Two campaign at the Staffsmart Arena.” The Pilgrims
toyed with merely registering Elding for a second time, but would have
been forced to allocate him two squad numbers and have extra numbers printed
on the back of Elding's match shirt. The Pilgrims
have also announced an exclusive image rights deal with Daryl Clare, allowing
the use of his image on the official club website. |
