Ten Questions.... Adam Hildred

impsTALK.co.uk >> 2008/2009 >> Ten Questions >> Adam 'Ocid' Hildred

Will we we ever let it lie?
No, probably not. Here are Adam's end-of-season musings....

Let’s kick off by patronising one of the two-bob poxy village outfits we’ve visited this season by asking you where our Brave Lads battled against the slope with the most severe gradient this season?
The worst slope I saw was the one at Shawcross, Clitheroe. The rest of the ground, though, was tidy and probably better than most in this league.

Where did 2008/2009 rank on your Worst Ever Season list?
Comfortably number one on the pitch. 06/07 wasn't the greatest ever season on the pitch, and apparently we had a few troubles off it, so this season probably comes second to that.

Alas, there was no trip to Tebay Services this year, so where was your favourite stop-off for some preposterously expensive grub?
Ferrybridge Services are a stalwart amongst motorway services to anyone who's been to more than a handful of games with BUSA.

Who was Boston United’s third best player this season?
1) Millson, 2) Ryan 3) Err...? If you count the newer signings, it's probably Ellie or Ricky Miller - and you probably should count them seeing as they saved our backsides big time. If you don't count them, Leabon may be up there even though he hasn't played since circa July.

Pilgrims fans returned from Kendal convinced Boston United were going down. Many started eying up clubs in the division below, and reacted with horror at the thought of Boston lining up on equal terms with some hamlet like Grantham. Which lower-NPL side was it that filled you with the most dread?
Spalding. I know someone who plays for them.

Apart from Boston itself, in which town did fear for your physical safety the most?
It's blatantly going to be between the juvenile delinquents of Ilkeston or the sheer deprivation evident in South Elmsall. Will plump for Ilkeston with it being the night game.

Let’s get controversial. Should Steve Welsh be trusted to lead the Pilgrims into 2009/2010?
I was going to answer this along the lines of "not convinced, but he's done alright and I doubt we'd get anyone better if he axed him." We've axed him. Let's hope we get someone better.

If you had a choice between staying in the Northern Premier League or moving south, would you stay put? Although just to be clear, you’re not important enough to make this kind of decision
Stay in the north. Under Tommy Taylor I'd snap your hand off for a move south, but the squad has now broken up enough to mean it wouldn't be worthwhile us starting knowing nothing about the league again.

Who will be next season’s Adam Millson?
Griffiths looks a very handy player although I'm not sure the right wing is the position for him, it's certainly not at home. Nick Jackson will be a good player.

Swine flu: end of the world, or embarrassing hysteria for which Sky News and Twitter are largely culpable?
I have no idea, but speaking of Twitter, have you seen Billy Davies'?
